Ultra Glucose Control

Blood glucose levels are extremely important to overall health because they play a key role in sustaining the energy a body needs to get through the day. Unfortunately, thanks to many factors, including a standard American diet consisting of foods high in sugars, fats, and refined carbohydrates, recent years have seen a significant increase in health problems attributed to unbalanced glucose levels.

How common are problems with blood glucose management?

According to a recent study, nearly 50% of adults living in the United States have diabetes or pre-diabetes, a condition where a person already has elevated blood glucose and is at risk to develop diabetes.1 In such a scenario, achieving stabilized blood glucose levels becomes an essential goal.

Individuals with unstable blood glucose levels usually experience blood sugar spikes and crashes due to their body’s inability to maintain a glucose baseline.2-3 To help manage blood glucose at a healthy range, glucose should be released consistently into the bloodstream. Dietary and lifestyle intervention may be the key to achieving this balance.

A new randomized study demonstrated that 16 weeks of intervention with Ultra Glucose Control, in combination with a structured dietary plan, resulted in significant improvement in hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c, a biomarker reflecting the average blood glucose levels over the previous 3 months) and body weight in overweight/obese patients with type 2 diabetes compared with the dietary plan alone.4

UCAN SuperStarch® is a key component of the diet featured in the randomized control trial and is a critical piece of the formula that sustains a healthy blood glucose response. Produced through a hydrothermal process, UCAN SuperStarch® is strategically designed to yield a sizeable molecule that is structurally different and larger than a regular complex carbohydrate and is more capable of sustained release of glucose.

Ultra Glucose Control contains 15 grams of UCAN SuperStarch® per serving in combination with a high-quality prebiotic IMO fiber in a blend known as MetaRelease®.

In addition to UCAN SuperStarch® and MetaRelease®, Ultra Glucose Control:

  • • Is designed with a 40-30-30 ratio-balanced combination of macronutrients (proteins, fats, and carbohydrates) to manage glucose response
  • • Delivers 15 grams of high-quality pea and rice protein along with added branched-chain amino acids
  • • Delivers 22 essential vitamins and minerals
  • • Available in chocolate and vanilla flavors in both 14-serving and 30-serving sizes

Notice: This medical food is to be used under the direct supervision of a physician or other licensed healthcare practitioner for patients with prediabetes or diabetes, or those who need support for glucose response management.
